This handcrafted farmhouse rustic-designed elm mortar paired with a stainless steel and cross-walnut pestle makes a unique gift for yourself or a friend.

The Mortar, created from solid Elm, has a gently sloped, rounded bottom that is 1.5" deep.  It is 4.75" wide at the base and 2.50" high. The Mortar alone is great for chefs and casual cooks, as are salt/spice pinch bowls for the kitchen or perfect for a rustic table setting.

The Crotch Walnut with Stainless Steel Pestle shape achieves maximum coverage when grinding while keeping hand comfort in mind. The Pestle is 5 inches long and approximately 2 inches wide. The Stainless Steel Pestle Head design provides longevity of use and weight for ease of use. The Pestle's total weight is 13.0 ounces. 

All have been finished with food-safe oil and beeswax.

It is not dishwasher safe. Do not submerge it in water. When dirty, just wipe clean with a damp cloth and dry. When needed to freshen up the finish, re-oil it with a butcher-block oil conditioner, which is available at most hardware stores.
